I preordered the Sunlandic Twins, and got an email that said that it was shipped. It gives me a FedEx tracking number, yet when I go to it, it says that FedEx has no such number.

I'm just wondering--should I be nervous, or is everyone's like that still? Because this has once happened to me on a different site, and I never got my order.

Yeah, they shipped mine yesterday, too. But still, FedEx saying that they don't have anything with that tracking number, it makes me nervous.

Especially that I ordered three other Of Montreal CDs.

Oh, and I'm ordering Cherry Peel from another site. I've never found it anywhere. Woohoo!

Oh, nevermind.

It's now there. But it won't be here until the 6th! Bah!

you'd be surprised. it might get there earlier. besides, the sixth is wednesday. that's still six days earlier than you'd get it normally.

Yes, and I may take a record store trip tomorrow or Sunday, anyway, so that'll hold my thirst for music in until then.

My copy got here today ("here" is rural Minnesota). I got the cheaper shipping. The label has March 31 on it (not April 1). Tricksy...

The album is amazing. The bonus CD is great (especially "Black Fireworks").

I would appreciate an MP3 of the fifth bonus song. Unless it sucks. :P

Got mine today with the before mentioned buttload of extra stuff, including 2 pieces of laffy taffy! I for one have been thoroughly pleased with Polyvinyl, and [political rant] it makes me feel good to buy from a distributor that (presumably) does not contribute to Republican causes. Not that there's anything wrong with that. Check out buyblue.com to read more. [/political rant]

I know that I'm getting mine today, and the wait is so hard. With each sound I hear, I get excited and later disappointed, learning that it isn't the FedEx truck that I'm hoping for. Whether it be a truck, loud car, distant airplane, whatever. Each sound I hear makes me anxious.

I can't freaking wait until I get it.

Anyway, I just got it, along with two pieces of Laffy Taffy and a package of Bottle Caps! Awesome!

There were also a bunch of stickers for Polyvinyl bands, which I don't really care about because I really dislike most of Polyvinyl's lineup. But the candy is great, and surprising!

The only complaint I have is that the prongs that hold on to my copy of "The Bird Who Continues to Eat the Rabbit's Flower" are all broken off. Oh well.

Got my Sunlandic on Monday. Another piece of crap compilation of other Polyvinyl bands. Wow.. all that stuff sucks. The new OM album is alright. I heard horrible things (on this board) and it's not as bad as that. I like "Requiem," "Party," and "Oslo." Everything else is pretty weak. Gone are Kevin's humorous lyrics and melodic gift. The first two tunes on the bonus EP are good. "Black Fireworks" sucks. There was a time when Kevin could mic up a toilet and I'd love it. Something is changing. Yoko?

"Black Fireworks" DOES NOT suck.

I finally had the funds to order mine to day! I'm such a loser, I'm usually on top of things like this.

I'm really excited, as I always am when my favorite band puts out a new release!

:P

Mine arrived within 3 days.

So far, I'm groovin' to it, but it's taking awhile to absorb for me (although the album initially feels like Satanic part 2).

I miss the ol' OM.

personally i think for anyone not immediately taken with the new record - no matter what your opinion is by the time the band rolls through your town i think it's possible you'll be really surprised at how much you love the songs live, and then go back to dig em on the album.

i think one person on this board already posted something to that effect after having gone to the athens show. i love the album through and through but it did take on an even greater force of beauty in concert. as it should be :0

the only track that i don't think is really good is that one about springtime or whatever.. the instrumental one. it's unnecessary, and it sounds a little cheesy. but i like the rest. so begins our alabee is so dancy... dancey....you can dance to it.

ihavenoface

oh man, I love those instrumentals, and I so begins our alabee gets me pumped up for whatever im doing, even if its nothing im like YES! DOING NOTHING AWESOME!

black fireworks is the best song on the new album. period.
as far as Yoko is concerned. She is awesome.
I think she she only did good for john lennon. just consider that john was with yoko since 67 or 68 and he put out all of his best stuff throughout their relationship (re: julia, sexie sadie, imagine, etc...). Paul was the one who fucked up everything. It's too bad he's one of the last standing. He can kiss my gritts.
Yoko has some great solo stuff. Approxamately Infinite Universe is rad.
truthfully.
I hope the next album is filled with songs like black fireworks, with nina singing (lead or back-up). She has a good voice.

it is so passe to diss Paul... john never wrote anything as good when he was solo. those 2 people made each other better, and I'm not talking John and Yoko here.

john is better than paul solo but by no stretch of the imagination is he comparably close to the beatles...

and the new album is absolutely amazing outside of I was a landscape in your dream and death of a shade of a hue.

luckily those were the songs they didnt play at the show and like vacantmoon said (he might have been quoting me which means im quoting him who in turn quoted me... man im awesome) after you see em live it makes the songs that much better

whaaat you don't like those two? i love them.. the strings on both (i think those are strings on i was a landscape...)
