is there anyone out there from LA (the valley) who would want to start a pop band?
i would like to start a band, but not just any band, a good band. And I would not be happy by merely forming a good band, it would have to be a good band with nice people. Also, I don't think it would be asking too much for these nice people to be at least marginally skilled at some sort of instrument (notice I certainly didn't say "great" or "exceptional" at an instrument, just adequate).
I would like to keep it small. Preferably one from each gender, both of whom have singing capabilities. Preferably one with piano/keyboard/synth skills, the other with drum machine/programming abilities.
I have an electric guitar, a classical guitar, a bass, a keyboard, an accordian, maracas, and a drum machine. I am not excellent at any of these, but guitar is my best instrument.
I don't know what the sound will be like. You know that feeling when you get when you hear certain songs that are just, i dont know, absolutely perfect? That's what I want to sound like. So what is that? Charming? Yes, let's say charming.
For your convenience, i have included a list of bands and people that i enjoy, of which i wouldn't mind ever being compared to:
- anything E6 (obviously)
- T rex (but more so Tyrannosaurus Rex)
- Aislers set
- Simon & Garfunkel

Oh, yes, and please do not respond if you like the shins. Everyone seems to put them into their influences and i can't quite figure out Why? They might as well say "I am really into mediocre, uninspired, average indie rock." ( i would rather listen to metal machine music at full blast).
Also, please do not respond if you hate any of the above mentioned bands. They're all good, If you disagree, i don't trust you.
okay. the end. seriouisly.
