by the way, the most incredible thing happened to me today. I was reading the posts in the elephant6 section and there was that one abot the BT stuff. anyway, there was a setlist for an OM show in chicago and one of those songs was A Collection of Poems About Water. I have The Gay Parade on Vinyl, but mostly, I only listen to my computer (which has all the OM songs on it... or so I thought). I forgot about this song. It was never on my computer! I listened to my record and remembered hearing this song like 3 years ago. I assumed I had it, but apparently didn't (not on MP3, anyway). This song is one of the greatest songs ever. I can't believe I let that one slip by. Now I gotta find it on MP3. It is definitely a 5 star on iTunes when I get it!!!

it is indeed a demo for Frozen island. It is one of 3 Cocquelicot demo's that are / were available. Peacock parasols is on the Elephant6.com page and a demo for Hello from inside a shell was on the first Happy happy birthday to me records compilation album.

I have a tape with the demos for CAITPoppies......, and it's just Kevin, guitar, and piano, and it was almost impossible to listen to the finished album after listening to that tape for nearly a year. It's nuts how great Of Montreal songs can be once the extra stuff is stripped off of them. I know most people think of them as an everything and the kitchen sink band, where each song is filled to the max, but kevin still has amazing tunes even when the songs are as bare as can be. I wish they would release demo versions of each record, like an expanded dbl disc or something like that. For those who have the original cherry peel, he bird who eats the rabbit's flower, then you know what I mean.

I mentioned the demo, without mentioning that I can't record it. I wish I could, but before it was given to me, I was told not to pass it around, so I know the person who gave me the tape reads this board, so I can't offer it up in trade, unless that person says it's okay. I personally think a lot of the songs on the demo are better than the record, but it might just be because I had the tape for so long before the record came out, and I listened to it almost daily in the car, as it was stuck in the cassette deck.
