Just wondering...does anyone here know of any drummers in the DFW area who are big Elephant 6 fans? Thanks for any help...

do drummers have heros like guitarists do?

I don't recall any single modern day drummer who can even come close to Reni from the Stone Roses. Haven't heard a single song in recent years where the drums were worth a mention.

Well, since we're here, The Essex Green's Tim Barnes is a great player, as is Jeremy Barnes.

As a drummer, I feel like there are a TON of new artists today to take inspiration from, no matter what your style.

Myself personally, when I drum I try to do my best impersonation of:

Greg Saunier (Deerhoof)
Brian Chippendale (Lightning Bolt)
Rachel Blumberg (Ex-Decemberists, Norfolk & Western)
Jeremy Barnes (Duh)
Brad Wilk (Rage Against The Machine)

...and many others.

Oh, nope. But if I was, that'd be a serious burn!

I almost auditioned for a band in Dallas that had a real E6 type sound...they were called Robot Monster Holiday Weekend or some shit. I wonder what happened with them.

The drummer from Menomena is really good, that guy is amazing during shows.
