i have just obtained the 1922 pressing of the book "the adventures of maya the bee" by waldemar bonsels and have found many (too many to name) similarities between this book and the song. now being an avid fan of the children's television series 'maya the bee' (partly because my name is in fact, maya) i just had to order this rare copy of the book. and it is about a, you guessed it, happy yellow bumblebee, who is enamored with flowers and trees, and at night is scared as the "light wont touch me anymore" (yes that is a direct quote from the book). maybe if i get bored enough or have enough people interesting ill match the song lyrics to quotes from the book word for word. i dont know if a copy is available online, but i have only read the first two chapters and uh.. i am quite sure mr barnes has come into contact with this book at sometime or another, and thankfully so, as i LOVE that song.. and now i love it even more. =)
