I'm always interested in hearing about who my favorite artist's favorite artists are. What they're listening to, reading, watching, what they grew up listening to, reading, watching, etc...

I would definitely be able to get that lurid episode published...it would be so much more thrilling than an interview.

But if I told you that it would ruin the spontaneous nature of your responses.

asked to other members of band about an individual member:

What other band would *said band memeber of the band being interviewed* be a good additon to and why?

and the bands could be de-funked or you could pre-determine a list of bands to choose from (pulling a buch of wacked out bands from all over the spectrum... come on death metal? rap and hip-hop? hun, hun?).

I have no idea what the Believer mag is...but I don't doubt that it is boring...the genre is folk/pop, what else is on Orange Twin.

Really, after all of the great literature responses I thought I'd get just a bit more. Where are all the writers/music snobs?

Are you interviewing The Lovers?

Do you think it's important for artists to be politically engaged? Why or why not? How have your life experiences informed your music? What instrument would you love to learn to play? How often do you practice? Do you like to practice? Do you work in any other media (do you write, draw, sculpt, sew)? How does your other work relate to your music? What is your favorite thing to cook? What is your first memory? What do you remember most vividly from your childhood? Is it true for you that sadness and tortured feelings make the best music? If you had someone else's voice, whose would you want to have? Do you consider your music popular music? indie music? What's the difference and does it matter? If you ran a radio station, what would you play?

Lady, you are definitely my most revered poster, a light shining amongst the lobster.

It's difficult to answer without knowing who the artist is. I think I would ask personalized questions based on who the artist is and what they do. Otherwise, you're pretty much stuck with what's-your-favorite-fill-in-the-blank. Here's a few general ones tho-

Describe your music in terms of colors.

What made you want to write songs?

If you could have one piece of musical equipment absolutely free of charge what would it be?

If you couldn't play music, what would you want to do?

Where do you usually write songs at?

You can take me to the Red Lobster, and I'll sing on your machine.
