Hola everyone! I've become really curious about Essex Green, but I haven't heard much of their music. I've heard a few songs off the new record, but they sound different from what I expected from some descriptions of their older material that I've heard about--the couple of new songs I heard sounded kinda folky, rootsy, laid-back--but I'd always heard that Essex Green was this kind of psych-pop kind of outfit--it may just be sample size of the amount of material by them that I've heard...

so......how would YOU describe the sound of Essex Green (and each of their records)? Any info would be much appreciated! Thanks!!

It sounds like what you heard was pretty representative. They're definitely a little psych, but not in a "la la" kind of way.

I'd call them classic, organic, old world-ey ...

as far as i know, the album everything is green is the most psych-pop of their major releases. i read somewhere them saying that when they were in the studio recording it, they had a lot more options and it ended up sounding more '67ish than they had intended.
