mine is In the Aeroplane over the sea of course! because it's the most magical trip through the strawberry flavored fluids in my fleshy headsack that i've ever experienced and the hole time my head was screaming from the expression of joy, despair and sheer insanity of jeff mangum's fleshy headsack. The album uplifted me , gave me something to relate to, showed me something beautiful, restored my faith in humanity, and gave me a wonderful idea for making my music, and was just plain magical to me when i was depressed and even now. So yeah.
what's your favorite album and why?

In the Aeroplane Over the Sea is actually what's playing in my car right now! And there's only one other right? :( so sad there's no more...
"What a beautiful dream
That could flash on the screen
In a blink of an eye and be gone from me
Soft and sweet
Let me hold it close and keep it here with me"

''In The Aeroplane Over The Sea'' is my favorite album of all times, so of course its my favorite Neutral Milk Hotel CD as well. ''On Avery Island'', and ''Everything Is'' are good as well, plus Jeff Mangum's solo live CD is great.

'Hype City', 'Invent Yourself a Shortcake', and 'Beauty' are demo tapes. I've never seen the track listing. They'd be great to have. I think they all sound similar to the songs on the 'Everything Is' EP.

So far, I'm the only NMH fan that I know of who's showed more of a liking of On Avery Island. I like the darker undertones, I think, and I love the last track.

I like Accordian Peas best I think... Or ITAOTS... I love them all quite frankly.
My ITAOTS cd got stole just last week or so, it's so evil since it's very hard to buy here in sweden (and I can't buy stuff on the net) :(

Its weird that someone in Sweden would steal a Neutral Milk Hotel CD...

i haven't listend to on avery island yet. i don't want to download it so i'm waiting till i get money. so, at this moment i'd have to say that in the aeroplane over the sea is my favorite album; communist daughter is one of my favorite tracks.

William, why is it so wierd because it's someone from sweden who stole it? I think it would be wierd that anyone at all would steal that record...
It's pretty simple though, someone broke into my car and stole my stereo and cd-case with 18 cds including ITAOTS...

Its weird someone in Sweden stole it because it would be weird if someone in America stole it, let alone in Sweden where they are most likely even less known. I guess its not as weird if it was just a bunch of CDs since they probably didn't look through to specificly steal one.

i simply can't pick between the two. they are both outstanding, it's kinda like picking between olivias dusk and black foliage.
anyway, those 4 lp's are all in my top 6 albums.

Well I actually think that if someone would discover the wonderfullness of NMH by stealing my cds, it would almost be worth it, but I bet they just sold them all for a few bucks to someone who probably never listen to them :(
Didn't have that much in the car, so they only took the stereo and the cds. Unfortnatly I had so many great cds in there that are also hard to get here. E.g. two signed Microphones albums and Dusk at Cubist Castle. Ahh well, not much to do about it :(

My favourite would probably be Accordian Peas as well, or maybe Live@Cats Cradle.
No, definetly Accordian Peas, just for Little Birds.

kpunk doesn't ship to england? that's a bit cruel. it's a great album. "i want to be cold" was the nicest thing that happened to me all day, and that actually *is* saying a lot :)
has anyone ever listened to 'moon moon moon' on a rooftop at night? you would be forever altered by it

You can buy ''The Glow Pt. 2'' from Amazon.co.uk (http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00005NB2Q/qid=1056050490/sr=2-1/ref=sr_2_3_1/026-1650231-7120438) (link) for £11.99. When I first got it I really didn't like most of it. By the 4th time I listened to it, at night, with the lights off, laying it bed, I started to really like it, more, and more. Its one of my favorite CD's now. I got Mount Eerie last Tuesday.
