Any Bablicon fans around here? I like them mucho. Its got jeremy barnes in it for all you elephant6 heads that appreciate a name to help understand the music. They're on orangetwin or misra records too. i like em. thanks.

A Hawk and a Hacksaw is really upbeat carnival music with a Gallic twist. A touch of Reichian phasing on the piano loops, lots of shuffly drums, some found sounds, horns and strings, and you've got a rather jolly record.

absolutely, i still feel that album is criminally underated, especially among e6 fans. it was in my top 10 records last year. the arangements are quite impressive, and the various instrumentation along with the wonderfully layered accordian and piano really makes me smile. i think some of the songs would be great for a soundtrack to a film.
i just wish he would have come to austin on the tour. from everyones reports it was truly a sight to be seen.

jeremy solo and jeremy with bablicon are both amazing, live and on record. jeremy played a practice show in the fall as hawk and hacksaw and tore it up. the man can move like none other.
as for bablicon, my favorite album is 'a flat inside a fog...', but the other two records are equally rad. if you ever get a chance to see hawk or bablicon live, don't miss it!
