i found a copy of the High Water Marks' debut cd at our local used record store. and i immediately snatched it up. it is such a great record from start to finish. this music pretty much captures what i like so much about "independently made pop music" from the fuzzy guitars, crashy rhythms, and the endearing voices of Per and Hilarie. i just don't feel like records like this are being made anymore. this is an excellent record. i hope there are more High Water Marks' records in the future......

that album isn't coming out until next month, so there ARE more high water marks records in the future.

what sucks is that journalists are already selling it back to the record stores. but i guess that's the music biz.

I'm listening to it right now, its really a great record. But it sounds exactly like an Apples album (not that thats bad.) Trade Per and Robert's vocals and I don't really hear any difference. So if you like pre-Velocity of Sound Apples, you'll dig it.

hmm, I wouldn't say it sounds much like pre-vos apples, especially after listening to the ulysses record, but It's definetly enjoyable.
