I like ice cream with frozen red cherries in it on a mid-autum day with the idea in your head that this may be the last ice cream you have sitting out on your front porch on a slow evening till next spring. as the wind blows colder and colder the idea becomes more of a fact and you shed a salty tear into the softening ice cream and as you eat it it is yet another reminder of the fun you had splashing in the salty ocean just that summer in your grandmothers beach house.
