the show on saturday was one of the most beautiful, incredible events that I've ever been to. everyone who had anything to do with that, you're probably all going right to heaven just on principle.
I feel extremely fortunate to be alive and in a place where music like this happens. thank you so much for putting it together. it was, no contest, the best show I've ever seen.
rock on, rockers.

I would like to echo the last post and add many more thank-you's to all responsible. Thanks for the rides to and from town and opening up your community and inviting us all in. Was truly magical.

Thank you to Bonnie Prince Billy for sticking it out until the lights came back on.

And, thank you to Brightblack - I'd never heard you before but your music was enchanting.

Words are almost unable to describe the show or the atmosphere that went along with it.

Everyone who was there has experienced something that is rare and magical and who better to deliver the magic than Oldham?

I get to do it all again Wednesday, for the show in Jacksonville, but will always have a place in my heart for the Orange Twin Show.

Although I didn't get to meet everyone personally, you'll never be forgotten.

A superlative effort and an absolutely wonderful experience. Thanks to W. Oldham for trying to perform in the rain without amplification. It was just magic. But the real reason I'm writing this is to thank the soundman and whoever designed the sound system - as veteran concert goers, I and my buddy agreed that the sound for this show was really as near perfect as one ever hopes to hear. I've only been to about two other live performances where the amplification was so perfect that you could hear every little bit of the sound. Hearing the wild interactions of Oldham with his fans through the microphones while they were actually performing sent chills down my spine. I noticed it was all being recorded - it would be sad if someone misses the opportunity to put this out on a cd. I guess the early part couldn't be recorded, but the electric portion should come out on disc.

HOLY SHIT that show was easily the most incredible things i have ever attended in my life. we ate hippy food until a big thunderstorm ruined the concert, or so we thought....Will and some bandmates walked aroung with guitars singing their asses off in a thunderstorm until they thought it was safe to turn the generaters back on. the lights came on and the instruments were plugged in to form the most beautiful music i have ever heard...i almost cried when they played i see a darkness....after the concert we a wonderful hike back to the camp sites. the rhythmof rain in the silent forrest at night was amazing. i will never forget this and would like to thank eric, john, heather, peter, andrew, scott, and laura for organizing/playing/attending at this one of a kind of event... Isee the world differently now...

The sound guy did a great job working with a P.A. that had been set up that day, and was incidentally being powered by a generator that was running off bio-diesel (fuel made from used cooking oil collected from restaurants around town). And the lights were being run from Solar power too.

Jeff Griggs is the man responsible for getting everything together. He did it totally because of his love for rock shows, and worked tirelessly with many other kind souls to get the amphitheater ready, and get everything organized with tickets, maps, etc.

I gotta also say that I loved Art Rosenbaum's performance down at the swimming hole earlier that day. He and his wife played some mean banjo and fiddlin' while singing about rowdy ways, travelin', and lovin'.

(Bit late maybe; hope the thread's not dead yet.)
Though not from this particular show, there's a couple of recent pics, and loads of older ones to be found here:

Anyone got any more, recent or old? They're all very very welcome. Thanks!
