My, this is a quiet forum. Anyway- this post is probably going to come out sounding confused, so bear with me......

Anyone know what Bill is actually up to? It's been an erm, age since "Age Of The Sun" came out.......

Also, does anyone else kinda feel sorry for Bill, in that Sunshine Fix hasn't really taken off in the same way that Circulatory System has?

I mean, the reviews for "AOTS" were kinda mixed while CS's debut was creamed over everywhere you looked.......granted, "CS" is quite a bit better than "AOTS" but it's as if Bill's being totally overlooked in favour of Will- *no one* ever mentions Mr Doss any more! Oh, not to mention the fact that this board is dead in comparison to CS's!

Um, I hope you all can make sense of what I'm trying to get at.......!

:D

It just seems a shame that both bands aren't receiving equal amounts of praise/exposure.

Dang- I just saw another review for "AOTS" where Bill is referred to as "the lesser half of OTC"- wtf??!! I'm not having that!

Will and Bill kick equal amounts of arse.

Meh, its bound to happen when a band splits up like that. One of them is gonna get worse reviews then the other. But reviews dont really mean anything, so who cares.

But I would certainly like to know when some new Sunshine Fix music will be coming my way.

i've defintely read several reviews where the albums were compared and the reviewer liked the Age of the Sun better than CS. so it's 50/50.

besides pitchfork, where are people glowing over CS? magnet, all music guide, uncut all gave it bad reviews...

Yep, the new album's all finished and should hopefully be out sometime this year . I was lucky enough to get to hear it and it's awesome! It's so different from anything else he's done.

As far as the whole Bill vs. Will thing, I can't compare one to the other, they're both my favorite musicians! It doesn't matter to me who gets more press or better reviews, etc... I love both bands! It's not like the guys are in competition or something, they're both just doing what they love to do!

The show last night was fantastic. Great sets from both bands despite a lightning delay two songs into TSF's set.
During CS's set it struck me just how different the two are.
I think that Bill, knowing very well how to work within an Olivia framework, needed to figure out how to work within his.
I'm thinking he has hit his stride.
I don't know how it will effect the amount of threads on this page, but "The Green Imagination" will likely turn some heads.

I really think "Age of the Sun" is an incredible record and I can't wait to hear their new one. I have yet to hear the Circulatory System so I can't make any comment on the comparisons. Guess I'll have to run out and buy some today cuz I'm curious as hell...but, hey, this is the Sunshine Fix forum and I'm putting in my two cents...I love 'em!!

There will be an exclusive track not on the new Sunshine Fix record (coming soon) on the next volume of Happy Happy Birthday to Me Vol 3 CD. I for one can't wait for the new Sunshine Fix record. The two of them together made Olivia Tremor Control amazing, but on their own projects it let's them focus in the directions they want to go outside otc. Plus look at it this way. Doss very into touring, and really a showman. Hart not so into touring, but a studio craftsman. They both come alive in different ways, one on a stage, the other behind a board.

i think they both made great albums. there is a otc show that you can download at the e6 website where there are songs from age of the sun, and the cs album. i tried to picture how these songs would fit together on one album and i just don't think they would. i think bill and will made the right desicion to go off on their own directions. although both good songs i can't imagine a song like age of the sun flowing into outside blasts, or any song off of each of their albums.
