I've never heard Essex Green but there's a (less than positive) review on pitchforkmedia.com today.
Just thought I'd let you know.

i read pitchfork every weekday. there's not many sites that have 5 reviews and news stories on a daily basis, granted, most of there stories they cop off of nme or other music news site. the 'forkers are usually at least annoying and sometimes completely ignorant. but there's still merit in reading any daily indie music site.
anyway, my rule of thumb for the 'forkers is this:
if a record gets a high mark it may be worth checking out.
if a record gets a low mark it's probably not good
if a record gets a middle mark, it may very well be a great, but otherwise mediocre.
the main thing is i never buy a record based on a 'fork review.
my question is, what other sites do board members recommend for good info/reviews on a regular basis?
i enjoy www.junkmedia.com

I check out Splendidezine daily for indie reviews. Also, in their features archives, there are a good bit of articles on E6 bands.
