okay, i just called the place and they said that the first band is going on at 5 and playing until about 7, but they didn't know which band was playing when. if anyone has the inside scoop, i'd sure appreciate it. thanks.

I will be there, maybe a little late since I'm coming off work, but sounds like I won't miss AHAAH at least...

i called beforehand, and the fucker told me that ahaah and fleet foxes were starting at 930 (in some order). i even repeated back the information to make sure i understood him correctly, and he insisted that was the deal. so i get there at 930, and watch fleet foxes set up for an hour, then i enjoyed their show thoroughly, and then i was surprised that i was about to get front row seats for ahaah. then it became painfully clear that the stupid slacker gave me the wrong time. i missed it. so pissed. ah well.

I was there! Couple of things I've been curious about since seeing them this weekend...

first off, all the promotional stuff i'd read about the show clearly mentioned AHAAHS was headlining (here, for example: http://www.thedailypage.com/theguide/details.php?event=202501 ) Then somehow at the last minute, fleet foxes headlined. Turned out this made the best sense, though. I've been listening to hawk and a hacksaw for probably 2 years or so and had been wanting to see them live for about as much time. Only been listening to fleet foxes for 2 weeks or so and they completely blew them out of the water. Absolutely beautiful harmonizing, great stage presence, kept me in a trance for the whole set.

AHAAHS as great too, but I have a couple bones to pick with their performances this weekend (madison and chicago). One, what's with the fake accent, jeremy? You've never sounded like this in any of your interviews. You're from new mexico. I know apparently you spent some time in europe and whatnot, but even if you spent a lifetime there you wouldn't sound like that. It's not even a good fake accent. It reminded me of something you'd see on mad tv or some equally horrible sketch tv show. Second, jeremy's attempt to throw lyrics into their songs is a huge mistake. I give him credit for trying, but unfortunately the man cannot sing. He may also be one of the most introverted and stiff frontmen I have ever seen. Seems more like the band is made up of four supporting musicians. Despite all this criticism, when they stick with doing what they know, they're phenomenal. No one can quite play the accordian and bang on drums with foot pedals like that madman.
