Is anyone from Austin coming to Stubb's BBQ Saturday for the Of Montreal show? If so, and you're interested, our little band the Channel will be opening and it would be great to meet some e6-board goers! We'll be the ones with the big fake mustaches. Hope to see you there!

yeah, or like yosemite sam. what a guy! the reason for the mustaches? i guess we just feel they are very underrated these days (what with only policemen and security guards sporting them). of course, nobody get their hopes up too high, 3 of us have beards and will be unable to partake in the mustachian ritual.

i enjoyed the show very much. the channel played an outstanding set and was my favorite performance from them. their debut album 'tones are falling' will be out this week.

it was weird seeing of montreal as a 4-piece. the usually things continue to amaze me every time i see them. derek's masterful bass playing and kevin's amazingly outstandingly beautiful voice. the control of his voice is astronomically astounding and the purity and depth just push me over the edge. of course dottie and jamie are wonderful too and once they started playing i didn't even think about andy not being there. dotties keyboard wizardly continues to thicken the sound.

they played a nice selection of songs covering most of the albums. kevin said they are inventing the 'goth pop' sound and they certainly rocked out heavy a few times. there was also a rap song that was exquisitly presented in old-school style. i sure hope that ones slated for official release!

james william hindle was pretty good. kevin went up to sing a few songs with him and they did chad and jeremy's 'summer song' which is one of my favorite 60's tunes.

I personally think he was out-standing! I really liked his show, but then i got his newest cd (which is not out yet, but is available at the shows) called "prospect park". I am honestly blown away. I think he is an incredible song write with an amazing voice. I recommend anyone going to the shows to buy his cd(s). You won't be disappointed.

I agree about James William. We just saw him for the second time when Of Montreal came through Minneapolis, the first time being when he toured with Essex Green/Ladybug Transistor. He has such a sweetness to his music, very quite and very honest. The first time I saw him I thought hmmm he's ok, but he has really grown on me. My brother bought is cd also and it is fantastic. He really likes that G to E minor break down.

Damn, I didn't look at the date and thought the Channel was going to open again. When I saw them open for of Montreal in 2005 it was the 25th anniversary of the Popeye movie, and they dressed up as characters and there set was nothing but songs from the movie. Twas amazing.
