so i saw this movie, it was amazing, there were some parts that were not "realistic" and what not, but i can let it slide because the movie was so awesome. also it gave me a bit of a headache, but seriously, it was intense and worth seeing in a theater. ok BYE!

WHATT!!! ahah ok it wasn't bad but for me it was a let down. I don't want to spoil it for anyone so I'll just say I think it could have been much better.
Definately a must see out of all the other films in theatres currently.

It's a requisite that you see this in a theater with a good sound system.
Also, Lizzy Caplan <333333

Look to the far right. Note the giant splash, caused by something falling from space, per chance?

I was expecting the movie to be awful, but it was actually really good!
And they played "Wraith Pinned to the Mist and Other Games" in the background at the part scene, which was intensely exciting. : D

I keep hearing everyone on here rave about it, but I personally hated it, and I saw it with about 15 other people and only 2 of them liked it. The camera was a good idea to begin with, but after 5 minutes of it I was nauseous the entire movie. And besides that I was just bored and disappointed in the whole thing. What did everyone find so great about it? I thought the intro was rushed too much and therefore I felt no real attachment to any of the characters, and couldn't care less what happened to them, which made the whole romance pointless. I enjoyed the pre-attack part of the movie, but feel like it would of been such a better movie if it had allowed more time for character development and less time for explosions. But that's just my two cents that everyone will probably berate me for.

i didnt really care for the characters either, but what i liked about it is that i FELT like this was happening to me, it felt like it was there because of the single camera. thats why i felt it was an amazing movie.

I didn't really care for the characters either, but I don't feel you were meant to. The single camera engaged me such that I felt if any harm were to befall the main characters, I myself might be at risk! Plus if you were meant to care for the characters very much, I doubt they would've used the ending they did. It was really more about the audience witnessing terrible things happening to a group of people than the amazing journey of the film's characters IMO!

Yeah, the whole basis of the movie is that it's just a video that the government found at the site. How much character development can you really expect from one video tape that some guy just happened to be filming on when a huge monster attacked the city?

I loved this. I can't even wrap my mind around it, to tell you the truth. The special effects were so spectacular that I forgot a few times throughout that it was not really happening. And I loved the shaky camera thing. It really made you feel like you were there with them, experiencing it all. I thought it was all truly terrifying and effective.
