just got back from the first mountain goats show of the year, i believe. it was absolutely brilliant. i have to disagree with patman, this album is fantastic throughout. how about autoclave? i felt like each album kept getting better. the only one i couldn't really get into was the last one 'get lonely', but the last few before it were gripping. this one brings back some of those john darnielle 'punch you in the face' songs. really incredible performance, especially with the new drummer. check 'em out if they're in yr town. and get heretic pride for sure.

I was at the show where he debuted Autoclave. It knocked me flat on my ass. The whole next week, I rode around New York singing it, trying to remember all of the words. Having heard it, it's hard to imagine life without it.
