What if you had to cut the White Album to NO MORE THAN 14 SONGS??? Which would they be??
Rules: 1) At least three members must be represented with at least one song. So you are not required to choose a Ringo song. Also let's say a maximum of 8 from one member.
In no order:
1. Dear Prudence
2. While My Guitar Gently Weeps
3. Happiness Is A Warm Gun
4. I'm So Tired
5. Blackbird
6. Julia
7. I Will
8. Sexy Sadie
9. Cry Baby Cry
10. Revolution #1
11. Ob-La-Di-Ob-La-Da
12. Martha My Dear
13. Rocky Raccoon
14. Savoy Truffle
My count: John - 8, Paul -5, George - 1

Weird, I was watching the Anthology DVD last night and there was a minor segment about how maybe they should have not made it into a double album.
my cd copy is some russian bootleg version with extras so it comes to 55 tracks…

While the white album may have some mediocre tracks in the bunch, fuck changing it. You're really ruining a masterpiece by doing that. Why must people feel the need to "improve" art?
And if you take Revolution 9 off of there, you're a fuck face.

when i was little my parents had copied the white album from lp to cassette so we could all listen to it on our cassette players, and they had omitted revolution #9. i only heard it for the first time a couple years ago.

I never said to "improve" it. I'm saying if it was up to you and you had to make it a single album what would you include. I knew I was gonna incur the wrath of patman at some point ;)
Obviously if you cut it down to 14 tracks then its essentially a different record. I am not putting the record down (I love it actually) or saying it would be better as a single album. I just thought it'd be an interesting exercise because it is so hard to nail it down to that length. It would force you to make some very tough choices. This isn't a "should the White Album be a single album" thread at all.

I only put the members thing in there so that you couldn't just load it up with John (or Paul) songs. You did well. I think almost all of us had a very similar tracklist give or take 2-3.
