so I'm a biking addict..love to bike, look at bikes, talk about bikes, songs about bikes, etc. to me there is nothing better to do to pass the time than to bike around with no particular destination. any others on this board into biking? I just got a new bike as an early christmas present (I picked it out, but the cash was a gift). Its an early 80's Viscount Gran Sport. I also have a Bianchi boardwalk. I'll post pics later. let this thread be the place to talk about and post pics of our bikes.

I used to race BMX in the early 90's.
I still have my whip.
Specs:
80's Redline racing frame, DK neck, black widow 3 pc crancks, elf blast bars, odyssey tripple trap cages, gt headset, pitbull brakes (white and black combined), powerlite seatclamp, odyssey Z77 seat, 80s gt front hub (generic rear, had to replace it), araya rb-17 rims.
I wasn't sponsored or anything, but I had some ggod times, especially on the street.
Any othe BMX-hedz out there (don't tell me I'm the only one!)?

Rock on with your bad self!
I'm pretty sure my redline frame is an rl 20 II. I got it used from a friend who was sponsored by Vision Street Wear, at the time.
Dude, I could never really freestyle. The best I could do was a bunny-hop onto a picnic table or over a trash can. I also built a very small 1/4 ramp into a embankment with some friends and landed a few 180s. That was back in illinois in 92 - 94. I raced some dirt motos but nothing serious.
I live in NYC now. When I first moved out here I left my redline at home (so it wouldn't get stolen) and I bought a GT interceptor that looked like this...

I kept it stock and rode it almost every day for 2 years and it got stolen in the village (IF ANYONE SEES THIS BIKE WITH AN OVERSIZED GARBAGE PAIL KIDS STICKER ON IT, KICK THEIR ASS, GRAB THE BIKE AND CALL ME!!). So then I brought out my baby. I refused to get a lock for it for a long time because I didn't even want to let it out of my sight unless it was at home.
When I first brought it out, it had different 3pc cranks (I don't recall the make), but they busted and I ate some pavement going against traffic on sixth avenue... on my way to the bike shop, ironically. that was fun. when my back hub went, I walked it to a bike shop in midtown to get it fixed and all of the guys that worked in the store hovered around it. It made me feel cool.
I know what you mean, though. I'm afraid to even jump a curb lip or hop a milk carton, these days. I don't have health insurance, so if I break a bone, I'm fucked.
We should street it up sometime.

Here is a pic of my redline from my SAME DUDE (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FhZY7BOY040&feature=related) video.

I just got my license suspended for a DUI, so I am strictly pedal powered now. I have a Felt f90 road bike that I've had for about 2 years, and I am currently shopping around for a Surly or Swobo fixed gear steel framed bike.

my bike! it was in okay condition when i got it, but not stellar, so i've replaced the brake pads, tightened the chain up, and fixed one of the gear shifters. everything else is original, i think, except for the saddle.

p.s. sorry for the shit quality of the photo; i don't have a digital camera so i just used photobooth

you must leave fixed gear in the past.

i dont really get the point of fixed gears for anything but bike polo.
my bike is outside in a foot of snow. i'll probably have a lot of repairs to do once the snow melts away. its a hybrid bike w/ shocks on it for when i run over a railroad track.. or a baby.. but i'm planning on getting a new one anyway. a touring bike. so i can go 50 miles and not wanna die. i might be biking from madison to minneapolis in august. i'm a crazy person. http://www.pnc2rnc.org/ though, i might not because their website is stupid. the idea was really good before they had to turn it into some hippie bullshit. anyway... yeah. i'm gonna get a new bike pretty soon. yey!
