M Coast has parted ways and
it seems Andy will either be going by Andy from Denver or
Marshmallow Coast again, while Derek, Emily, and Carlton are working
on a new band that has yet to be named.

Don't view this as a bad thing. Yes, we lose a beloved band, but we get two good bands out of it. Cheer up all.

This is from the "faster circuits" myspace.
"So I guess unless some statement is made there will always be conjecture...
M Coast's split was totally amicable. Andy called me up and expressed that he'd like to do more stripped-down electro-pop, which something he'd been hinting at recently. I had been wrestling with how to combine our new tunes as his are more in that direction while mine are heading into darker psyche territory. It's sad that it didn't work out, but bands rarely do! I look at it as an opportunity to do things i've never been able to do before. We are all still great friends, and in fact Andy and Sara were both at our Thanksgiving potluck.
I hope to get some pictures and music in here soon, but don't have anything but demo's for the new tunes yet and I don't really want to put any songs up until they're killer. I'll try to keep anyone who's interested updated, as this is a band that I feel like I can speak for!
Love,
Derek"

I updated my OA post with the news that although Andy hasn't decided if the new album is Marshmallow Coast or not, it will be coming out next summer/fall, and 2 new songs are at the Andy from Denver MySpace page:
