solo lou reed

who else here is a big fan of lou reed's solo career (outside of transformer, which basically everyone likes)? it's so weird and varied. the s/t album, berlin, and metal machine music are all among my favorite albums. people rightfully jizz over the velvets, but lou reed is probably the weirdest and coolest pop star ever.

I love the man.
I've seen him solo 2x.
Once was a fluke appearence at the opening of a park in tribecca with laurie anderson. There were about 50 people there and he played on one of those mini flat-bed stages like what they use in street fairs.
the other was a hurricane kartina benefit in NY.
Berlin is just as good as transformer. I also dig the velvets and all of his 80's stuff, too.
he is the epitome of cool, to me.
